The Athletic Activities Department and the President of USC, Gilberto J. Marxuach, welcomed seven talented students who will be part of the basketball team.
Mari Batista, Athletics Director, has the goal to be in the top university sports positions and, at the same time, develop successful professionals in and out of the game field, stressing the importance of supporting academic, as well as athletic goals.
They are here on athletic scholarships but they are students first, then they are athletes, and the quality of professionals that we send out to the work field sets us apart and we are recognized for it in the community,” Batista stressed that point to the new student-athletes and their parents.
Gilberto Marxuach, Sagrado President, stressed the commitment the university community has with Sagrado sports.
Success, for us is not winning the game or the League. That is important, but obtaining that diploma and, eventually, that each one of you becomes a productive citizen who can achieve your life goals, that is success for us,” he emphasized.
