The Graduate Program in Creative Writing<\/a><\/strong> of Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n University<\/a><\/strong> is celebrating the achievement of Paulinette Quirindongo<\/strong>, who was selected to represent Puerto Rico in the “One Humanity Writing Collective<\/a><\/strong>“, 2021-2022 edition. This is an integrated program of The Innovation Station: Creative Industry Lab<\/a><\/strong> under the US Department of State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A great opportunity! I never thought that a ‘jibarita’ from Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, would come this far,\u201d she said with emotion.”<\/p>Paulinette Quirindongo<\/strong>, graduate student at Sagrado<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This initiative, in turn, enjoys the collaboration of the Syllble science fiction and fantasy literature production studio. Its objective? To bring together writers from Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico with writers from Australia and New Zealand, to write.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Fabrice Guerrier, author and founder of Syllble, the writers will jointly create stories based on messages related to the United Nations<\/a><\/strong> (UN) Sustainable<\/strong> Development<\/strong> Goals<\/strong> and to global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulinette learned about the call for stories through Lorna Mart\u00ednez, academic director of Sagrado\u2019s Graduate Program. She submitted a fragment of her story \u201cLa llegada del fin de los cuentos\u201d (The Arrival of the End of Stories), which is related to the time after Hurricane Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her master\u2019s degree, this Sagrado Dolphin began standing out in the short story genre: in 2015, she published the micro story \u201cRenacimiento de Richard Adams\u201d (Rebirth of Richard Adams) in Colectivo Microficticio magazine. In 2018, she presented her book Rosario Ferr\u00e9, and in 2019, she published two short stories, \u201cLas cr\u00f3nicas de un hurac\u00e1n apocal\u00edptico\u201d (Chronicles of an Apocalyptic Hurricane) and \u201cLa llegada del fin de los tiempos\u201d (The Arrival of the End of Times), in prestigious literary magazines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThanks to the Master\u2019s Program in Creative Writing, my learning has evolved a lot. I have acquired new ways to write and to look at writing, to recognize its importance,\u201d she told inSagrado.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Sagrado student hopes to finish her degree by 2022. In addition, profits from the selection of stories created in the One Humanity Writing Collective to be published by Syllble will be shared between the authors. For sure, Paulinette will qualify again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
