Sagrado<\/a><\/strong> alumna Juliana Rivera D\u00edaz<\/strong> is living a dream by playing Isa in Gina Yei, the first Puerto Rican series of the Disney+<\/a><\/strong> platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI auditioned with four videos, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The process was very rigorous,\u201d said Juliana, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Journalism and Theater programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thank my professors at Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n University for their support. From February to May 2021, I attended class and -at the same time- rehearsed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., They made my class schedules more flexible,\u201d added the actress who plays Isa, a friend of the protagonist Gina Yei (Didi Romero).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juliana hopes that the Gina Yei series can open the door to many more Puerto Rican productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gina Yei<\/em><\/strong>, by creator Vladimir P\u00e9rez, was filmed on the Island from June to September 2021, under production houses Pi\u00f1olywood Studios<\/em> and Somos Productions<\/em>. The plot follows Gina, a talented young woman who won a scholarship to the Caribbean Musical Institute, the cradle of reggaeton.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cast includes 16 young people, in addition to experienced Puerto Rican actors and actresses such as Jos\u00e9 Brocco, El\u00ed Cay, and Alfonsina Molinari, and is directed by Ra\u00fal Garc\u00eda. This 24-episode production was shot in Old San Juan, El Escambr\u00f3n beach, El Patio De Sol\u00e9 restaurant in Santurce, and the Humacao Fine Arts Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacnier R\u00edos Lorenzo<\/a><\/strong> -also a Sagrado alumnus- will participate in Gina Yei<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
