The Board of Postsecondary Institutions<\/strong> (JIP, Spanish acronym) recently approved the proposal to create a new master\u2019s degree in Journalism and Innovation <\/a><\/strong>as part of the academic offer of the Ferr\u00e9 Rangel School of Communication<\/a><\/strong> (ECFR, Spanish acronym), to be offered as of August 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program has a cooperative type of curriculum where academia and industry come together in the training process of future journalists. \u201cOur master’s degree in Journalism and Innovation consists of 24 credits in a hybrid mode, with a sequential one that can be completed in just four quarters,\u201d explained Gabriel Paizy<\/strong>, Dean of ECFR to inSagrado<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the last trimester, students can choose between two end-of-degree options: a cooperative internship in an information medium (in person) or a collaborative innovation project with an information medium created from Sagrado.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program is aimed at persons interested in journalism and technological, media and cultural innovation. Students are prepared in journalistic investigation methods and new storytelling formats to offer transcendental content with transparency and reliability to audiences of digital platforms and traditional media,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The objectives of this master\u2019s degree include training journalism professionals so that they are capable of innovating in their practice and managing change to produce relevant information. It also seeks to foster writing informative and socially significant content for multiple digital platforms and the traditional media. Research focused on immersion journalism and solutions is also promoted, using analysis and data mining, critical questioning and interdisciplinary collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
