Sagrado students Wesley P\u00e9rez Vidal and Ang\u00e9lica \u00c1lvarez Nieves were admitted to the Sagrado Neuroscience Pre-College Program<\/a><\/strong> (SNPP), which was originally aimed at high school students interested in a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with an emphasis on neuroscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to have –for the first time<\/strong>– students from Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n University as participants in the SNPP,\u201d said Dr. Edmarie Guzm\u00e1n V\u00e9lez<\/strong>, leader of the SNPP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWesley and Ang\u00e9lica demonstrated, through their essays and application, how much they would benefit from the SNPP,\u201d Guzm\u00e1n V\u00e9lez added to inSagrado<\/strong> magazine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He wants to bring together his passion for communicating about science, psychology, and technology with a view to evaluating their impact on mental health through media psychology. Meanwhile, Ang\u00e9lica has an interest in exploring how psychiatry helps humans overcome moments of difficulty, said Dr. H\u00e9ctor De Jes\u00fas Cort\u00e9s<\/strong>, also a leader of the SNPP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wesley is pursuing a bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Communication, and want to pursue a master\u2019s degree in Media Psychology. For her part, Ang\u00e9lica is working on her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Sagrado with the aim of pursuing a doctorate in Forensic Psychiatry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This June and July 2022<\/a><\/strong>, some 35 students from the public and private education system -and now also from Sagrado- will participate in the SNPP internship, which will be virtual and free of charge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
