The Experimental Theater at Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n University<\/a> will bear the name of the great Edgar Quiles: actor, stage director, critic, researcher, and theater professor for more than 40 years at our institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From both the Experimental Theater and the Emilio S. Belaval Theater, Quiles taught hundreds of students who stand out in various areas of the performing arts around the world. Furthermore, he promoted the importance of research in theater arts with countless publications in specialized magazines and books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consistency of his artistic career and his academic work has been exemplary, just as his willingness to serve as mentor to young teachers. He collaborated in the development of the School of Arts, Design, and Creative Industries<\/a>, of which he said he felt deeply happy and proud. For all this, our university will be eternally grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His unconditional support for the School of Arts during its creation is a great inspiration to continue his legacy and honor him through our Experimental Theatre, which serves as a classroom, laboratory, and workshop for students,\u201d said Javier Hern\u00e1ndez Acosta<\/strong>, dean of the School of Arts.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Quiles\u2019 daughters and the whole campus community participated in this recognition, which took place during Theater Week in Sagrado. Theater Week included activities and workshops, as well as the staging of the play La paz perpetua <\/em>(Perpetual Peace), directed by Professor Heriberto Feliciano and performed by students from the Theater Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
