Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n held its Student Organizations and Services Fair on Wednesday, March 11, at the Student Center. The event brought together university associations, external agencies, and institutional services to guide the student community on various academic, professional, and support opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity featured 14 informational tables and 17 student associations, along with the participation of organizations focused on health, volunteering, professional opportunities, academic programs, and community support. In addition, students with their own business ventures also took part in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeamy Mel\u00e9ndez, coordinator of Student Affairs within the Dean of Students Office, explained that the initiative was created to connect students with support resources to address needs that may arise during their university life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the participating organizations was the Army ROTC program. Its representative, Chris Dalmau, explained that their participation aims to guide students interested in academic and professional opportunities within the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMany people want to study and end up going directly to a recruiter, when they can first participate in the university program, gain experience, and then decide which branch of service they want to join,\u201d Dalmau explained. He added that the program offers physical and theoretical training, scholarships, internships, and experiences that can take place both in Puerto Rico and in other parts of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another organization present was Centro Sof\u00eda<\/a>, represented by Iris N\u00fa\u00f1ez, coordinator of Social Action and Volunteering, who highlighted students\u2019 interest in participating in community service initiatives. \u201cWe are the solidarity component within the university, and we aim to guide students on how they can serve and support those who need it most,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For attending students, the fair also represented an opportunity to learn more about the organizations available on campus. Doryan M. V\u00e9lez Rojas, a student from the School of Design and Arts, noted that the event helps uncover useful resources for academic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, student Elizabeth Toro Torres, a member of the Foreign Relations Assembly, emphasized the importance of students being aware of available international opportunities. \u201cIt\u2019s important for students to understand that their careers can have a global reach and that there are opportunities to expand their professional experience outside of Puerto Rico,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, Natalia Rosado, president of the Pre-Legal association, explained that the fair helps showcase organizations that support students\u2019 professional development. \u201cFor us, it\u2019s important to participate because it\u2019s an opportunity for students to learn who we are and the academic and professional opportunities we offer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Student Organizations and Services Fair established itself as a space for guidance, connection, and learning for the university community, allowing students to become familiar with the resources available to support their academic journey and professional development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
