Sagrado employees came together in a community service experience centered on children\u2019s education.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the theme \u201cListening to Build Peace,\u201d the Recorrido por la Paz (Journey for Peace) was recently held\u2014an initiative that provided an opportunity to serve and support others while promoting dialogue, empathy, and social commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this Lenten season of reflection and service, on Holy Monday and Holy Tuesday, a group of dedicated volunteers\u2014employees of the University of the Sacred Heart\u2014participated in a volunteer initiative at SER de Puerto Rico<\/a>, reaffirming our commitment to a more just and compassionate society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day, the team joined kindergarten classrooms\u2014Dal\u00ed and Picasso\u2014supporting teachers directly in their educational activities. Through hands-on involvement, encouragement, and enthusiasm, they helped create a supportive environment where each child received individualized attention, strengthening their learning process in a space filled with empathy and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day was full of energy and joy with the celebration of Field Day. Volunteers actively supported the different activity stations, accompanying students throughout each activity and promoting participation, teamwork, and enjoyment. It was a day where learning happened through play, naturally strengthening social and emotional skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the tasks performed, this experience left a lasting impact on all participants. The fulfillment of contributing to children\u2019s development, sharing meaningful time, and serving with purpose reaffirms the value of volunteerism as a powerful tool for social transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Sagrado, the institutional mission comes to life through action. This volunteer effort reflects the university\u2019s commitment to educating for a society grounded in solidarity, justice, and peace.
