Access to community development opportunities is strengthened through partnerships among entities and organizations committed to the common good. In this context, Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n and Hispanic Access Foundation<\/a> are consolidating an alliance aimed at improving the quality of life of the university community and the Santurce area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this commitment, the organization visited Sagrado on April 28, 2026, in a meeting that reaffirmed their shared interest in generating sustainable community impact. The visit took place in the context of a recent grant awarded by Hispanic Access Foundation for the development of Sagrado Bosque Urbano<\/a>, an environmental project that seeks to preserve and strengthen the campus\u2019s tree ecosystem and its surroundings in Santurce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the foundation\u2019s team toured various university facilities to learn firsthand about Sagrado\u2019s educational model. The agenda included visits to Neeuko<\/a>, the Collaborative Innovation Center; the School of Arts, Design, and Creative Industries; the Ferr\u00e9 Rangel School of Communication; the School of Business; and the School of Health and Sciences. They also explored socially impactful spaces such as Centro Sof\u00eda<\/a>, the university pastoral program, CoMesa (a healthy community dining initiative), and the university garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit made it possible to demonstrate how Sagrado\u2019s academic proposal is integrated with its community commitment. The Hispanic Access Foundation team learned how each school incorporates learning experiences that go beyond the classroom to foster the active participation of students and faculty in initiatives that benefit surrounding communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach becomes even more relevant in the development of Sagrado Bosque Urbano, as it not only incorporates arboriculture practices to improve the health of existing trees on campus, but also integrates an interdisciplinary educational component. Through this initiative, students and faculty from various disciplines will participate in different stages of the project, strengthening experiential learning and promoting environmental sustainability as a core aspect of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission of Hispanic Access Foundation to connect Latino communities with development opportunities converges with Sagrado\u2019s mission to promote the holistic development of its students and strengthen leadership with social awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, the collaboration between Hispanic Access Foundation and the university reflects the shared values of both institutions. While the foundation advances access to opportunities for underrepresented Latino communities, Sagrado continues to educate individuals with the capacity to transform their environment, reaffirming that education and community engagement are fundamental pillars for the collective good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
