JACKSONVILLE, Florida \u2013 Puerto Rican journalist Jordana El\u00edas Barreiro continues to expand her career in Hispanic media in the United States by becoming the sports anchor for Telemundo Jacksonville<\/strong>, the first and only local Spanish-language newscast in Northeast Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El\u00edas Barreiro, 29, is a graduate of the Digital Production<\/a> program at Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n<\/a>. Her media career began in radio, where she worked in promotions and traffic segments while also representing nearly eight radio stations in Jacksonville, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She later joined Action News Jax as a content producer. There, she began presenting brief sports segments for Telemundo Jacksonville while the station\u2019s signal was still in the process of becoming officially established in the local market. That opportunity marked the beginning of her on-camera career in sports broadcasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the Puerto Rican communicator works full-time as a sports reporter focused on creating specialized content for the region\u2019s Hispanic audience, a role through which she also highlights stories of strong interest to the Latino community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
