This distinction is the highest symbol of recognition granted by the university to members of its graduating classes.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the celebrations leading up to commencement ceremonies, Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n<\/a> <\/strong>(Sagrado) awarded the P\u00f3rtico Medals<\/strong> to students Yadielis Gonz\u00e1lez Mu\u00f1iz, Charielly Mota Rosario, and Rodolfo Falc\u00f3n Mojorrieta, members of the Class of 2026, in recognition of their academic excellence, transformative leadership, and perseverance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medals were presented during the Graduation Mass held in Sagrado\u2019s Main Chapel. This distinction is the university\u2019s most prestigious award for graduating students whose outstanding achievements demonstrate a commitment to community service, social responsibility, and positive impact within Sagrado and society at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yadielis Gonz\u00e1lez Mu\u00f1iz, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor concentration in Pre-Pharmacy, received the P\u00f3rtico Medal for Volunteer Service<\/strong> for her commitment to the well-being of others. She dedicated 391 hours of community service to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, The Akari Foundation, and El Comedor de la Kennedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The P\u00f3rtico Medal for Leadership and Social Commitment<\/strong> was awarded to Charielly Mota Rosario, who earned a double bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Global Communication and in Psychology. During her time at Sagrado, she distinguished herself through leadership in student initiatives, completion of a congressional internship, and collaboration with organizations such as USDA Rural Development, the American Red Cross, and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rodolfo Falc\u00f3n Mojorrieta, an athlete who graduated from Sagrado\u2019s School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Management, was recognized with the P\u00f3rtico Medal for Leadership and Social Commitment<\/strong> for exemplifying leadership, community service, and excellence in both academics and athletics. As part of his student journey, he mentored fellow students, was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society, and excelled in athletic competitions both in and outside Puerto Rico, including world championships, the Pan American Games, the Olympic Games, and Puerto Rico\u2019s Interuniversity Athletic League Sports Festival (LAI). Falc\u00f3n Mojorrieta\u2019s achievements were also recognized with the Sagrado Trajectory Award<\/a> by Sagrado\u2019s Athletic Department during its recent Sports Gala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Graduation Mass also featured the presence of chef Iv\u00e1n Clemente, founder of El Comedor de la Kennedy, who received the Rosa Filipina Duchesne Medal<\/strong> in recognition of his spirit of service that transcends barriers. Also joining the occasion was Sila Mar\u00eda Calder\u00f3n Serra, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by Sagrado during its 87th Commencement Ceremony<\/a>. Each of these students, now graduates, is a living example of the values that guide the mission of the University of the Sacred Heart: solidarity, justice, and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
