Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n<\/a> welcomed more than 1,000 first-year students and their families to celebrate the conclusion of Welcome Week with an investiture ceremony, during which students committed to living out the values outlined in the Sagrado’s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was attended and supported by the entire university community, including the deans of each school, who explained to the newest members of the student body what distinguishes a Dolphin from each of the schools that make up Sagrado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Anuchka Ramos Ruiz, provost and executive vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, welcomed the new generation of students with an invitation to approach their university experience with intention and gratitude. She emphasized the university community\u2019s commitment to supporting them throughout their academic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, students also met their academic advisors, who will guide them on matters such as academic planning, exploring concentrations, and other academic concerns throughout their time at Sagrado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The welcome ceremony was followed by the lighting of the flame in front of the iconic portico, an activity symbolizing the light of knowledge and hope that will accompany students throughout their university careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conclusion of Welcome Week also included opportunities for celebration and community-building, where students were able to connect with other members of the community and continue exploring the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Ang\u00e9lica Mar\u00eda Torres Gonz\u00e1lez, a native of A\u00f1asco, expressed her excitement about beginning her bachelor\u2019s degree in Experience Design: Tourism and Events at the School of Arts, Design and Creative Industries<\/a> (EADIC). \u201cI really liked the dynamic at Sagrado: the people, the professors, and the way they speak to us,\u201d the student said about her experience during Welcome Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Julia Garc\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez, who is from Spain, joined the Sagrado community as a student in the bachelor\u2019s degree program in Experience Design: Tourism and Events. Like Torres Gonz\u00e1lez, she enjoyed the welcome ceremony and the lighting of the flame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to meet new people and open myself up to new experiences. After all, it\u2019s a new culture for me,\u201d the student said, adding that she was excited to make new friends, join student organizations, and explore other parts of Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
