By Institutional Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLearning by doing\u201d is at the heart of the educational philosophy of Universidad del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n<\/a>. For our institution, this approach to teaching means taking learning beyond the boundaries of the classroom and viewing the world as the classroom. It was precisely this experience that Sagrado recently brought to The Summ college fair, where thousands of high school students connected with the University, shared their aspirations, and learned how Sagrado can help them achieve their goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the fair, students had the opportunity to engage in conversations with deans, academic leaders, and faculty members from four academic schools in an interactive experience designed to recreate the personal connection and exchange that characterize the Sagrado experience on campus. The Ferr\u00e9 Rangel School of Communication<\/a> presented a live podcast; the School of Business invited participants to take on the challenge of \u201cleading business change\u201d through a \u201cDolphin Tank\u201d experience; and the School of Arts, Design and Creative Industries created a space where students could explore their creativity through live painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the School of Health and Sciences area, students participated in medical simulation and scientific exploration activities. Nursing students conducted hands-on demonstrations that gave participants a close-up look at the work carried out in this field. Each encounter was an invitation to discover their interests, ask questions, and imagine the professional path they want to build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experiences also provided an opportunity to hear what motivates and interests the new generation. Among the topics students mentioned most were marketing and advertising, community service, the desire to help others, personal growth, music, artistic creation, sports, medicine, musical theater, and film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Sayrette Mart\u00ednez, from Cayey, the visit represented another opportunity to connect with Sagrado. The young student was already familiar with the university and visited the School of Business booth because of her interest in marketing and advertising, as well as the creativity she experienced through the immersive activity they offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Space for Those Who Support Students on Their Journey to College<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sagrado\u2019s participation also included the Sagrado Lounge, an innovative space created specifically to recognize and support those who play an important role in accompanying students on their journey to college. The space brought together Admissions staff and academic leaders with counselors, parents, and school principals, who had the opportunity to talk, exchange perspectives, and learn more about the opportunities Sagrado offers to support young people as they explore their options and make decisions about higher education<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program included presentations on new generations of students, supporting families, and trends in the workforce, featuring Edwin Figueroa Narv\u00e1ez, Executive Director of Admissions; Ismavette Cotto, Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Alba Brugueras Fabre, Assistant Professor at the School of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sagrado community recognizes that choosing a college major begins long before arriving on campus. It begins by discovering what one is passionate about, recognizing one\u2019s own talents, and finding people who believe in one\u2019s potential. Through this participation, Sagrado reaffirms its commitment to accompanying young people throughout this process of exploration and helping them envision the possibilities for their academic, professional, and personal future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
