Como parte de las iniciativas de Sagrado Contigo y en apoyo a pequeñas empresas locales, se celebró el conversatorio Creatividad, Innovación Empresarial Pos-María, punto de encuentro para que empresarios y líderes comunitarios compartieran sus experiencias luego del paso del huracán.

María lo cambió todo; son palabras que escuchamos frecuentemente desde el paso del huracán por la isla.
Por eso, y en línea con la nueva realidad que enfrenta el pueblo puertorriqueño el Centro de Innovación Colaborativa (Neeuko), celebró el conversatorio Creatividad, Innovación Empresarial Pos-María con el objetivo de compartir ideas y crear nuevos vínculos colaborativos para el desarrollo económico y social.
La actividad contó con la participación de empresarios y emprendedores entre ellos Mariana Reyes (La Junta, Calle Loíza Inc.), Javier Olmeda (Constructo; diseñador industrial), Javier Malavé Bonet (GOTENNA ingeniero de computadoras y redes), Yari Helfeld (compañía teatral: Y No Había Luz ), Lynnett Cartagena (directora Escuela Puertorriqueña para la Música), Javier Hernández (director del Departamento de Administración de Empresas), Miguel Calzada (MECA), y Alejandro Castrodad (100 Resilient Cities).
Entre algunas de las experiencias que compartieron los invitados destacaron la importancia de adaptarse, reforzar las redes de comunicación y formar alianzas sólidas entre diversos sectores para de este modo, reconstruir a Puerto Rico con más fuerza y autosostenibilidad.
Es momento de trabajar en equipo, si queremos echar hacia delante tenemos que promover la unión. No es momento de competir, es momento de colaborar y juntos buscar soluciones”, señaló Javier Malavé Bonet, ingeniero de computadoras y redes.
En este nuevo contexto, coincidieron que toda la comunidad empresarial necesita repensar sus modelos de negocio para acoplarse a la nueva realidad del mercado. Por tal razón, el departamento de Administración de Empresas de Sagrado, el Centro de Innovación Colaborativa (Neeuko) y el Centro para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Mujer, integran su experiencia, recursos, conocimientos y servicios para apoyar a empresarios en diferentes áreas de negocios.
Javier Hernández, director del Departamento de Administración de Empresas destacó que las instituciones académicas deben tomar un rol central en el proceso de renovación de Puerto Rico.
Como institución educativa, nosotros en Sagrado, no hemos estado exentos de la situación. Nuestro proyecto académico y social ha tenido que repensarse para atender los nuevos retos que encontramos frente a nosotros. Tenemos la oportunidad de crear una economía local interconectada y del bien común, que nos beneficie a todos. Está en nosotros crear un nuevo país”, explicó.
Por su parte, Yari Heldfeld de la compañía teatral Y No Había Luz destacó la necesidad de reinventarse y utilizar mecanismos culturales para crear nuevos centros de crecimiento comercial y cultural.
“La catarsis del huracán nos permite explorar nuevas ideas. Tenemos que ser conscientes de lo que está pasando en Puerto Rico para ser más resistentes. Ante esta situación el trabajo cultural es vital porque beneficia a la sociedad brindándole ese espacio necesario para expresarse y reflexionar”, comentó Heldfeld.
Asimismo, los invitados recalcaron la obligación de considerar los eventos atmosféricos a la hora de transformar el país.
Hemos aprendido que no podemos darnos el lujo de rehabilitar sin considerar que este tipo de fenómeno atmosférico puede volver a pasar; tenemos que estar preparados”, concluyó la codirectora de la compañía teatral Y No Había Luz.

Maria changed everything; these words are heard frequently after the passage of the atmospheric event in the Island.
Therefore, and in line with the new reality faced by the Puerto Rican people, the Center for Collaborative Innovation (Neeuko), held the forum Post-Maria Creativity and Business Innovation with the aim of sharing ideas and creating new collaborative links for economic and social development.
The activity was attended by entrepreneurs and businessmen, among them Mariana Reyes (La Junta, Calle Loiza Inc.), Javier Olmeda (Constructo; industrial designer), Javier Malave Bonet (GOTENNA, computer and network engineer), Yari Helfeld (theater company: Y No Habia Luz), Lynnett Cartagena (director of Escuela Puertorriqueña para la Musica), Javier Hernandez (director of the Business Administration department), Miguel Calzada (MECA), and Alejandro Castrodad (100 Resilient Cities).
Amid the various experiences shared by the guests, the importance of adaptability, reinforcing de communication networks and shaping solid alliances between diverse sectors stood out. This, they agreed, is the only way to rebuild Puerto Rico with more strength and self-sustainability.
Now is the moment to work as a team. If we want to move forward we have to promote unity. It’s not the moment to compete, but to collaborate and find solutions together,” said Javier Malavé Bonet, computer and network engineer.
In this new context, the business community needs to rethink their models to adapt to the new reality in the market, they agreed. For this reason, the Business Administration department, the Center for Collaborative Innovation (Neeuko) and the Center for Business Development for Women integrate their experience, resources, knowledge, and services to support entrepreneurs in areas of need.
Javier Hernandez, Business Administration department director, stressed the relevance of academic institutions taking a central role in the reconstruction and growth of Puerto Rico.
As an educational institution, here in Sagrado we haven’t been exempt of the situation. We have had to rethink our academic and social project to attend the new challenges that we’re facing. We have the opportunity to create an interconnected local economy for the common good, that benefits us all. It’s up to us to create a new country,” he said.
On the other hand, Yari Heldfeld of the theater company Y No Habia Luz emphasized the significance of reinventing yourself and using cultural mechanisms to create new commercial and cultural growth centers.
“The catharsis of the hurricane allows us to explore new ideas. We need to be aware of what’s happening in Puerto Rico to be more resilient. Given this situation, the cultural work is vital because it benefits society by providing the necessary space to reflect and express ourselves,” said Heldfeld.
Likewise, the guests highlighted the importance of considering atmospheric events at times of transforming the country.
We have learned that we can’t rehabilitate without considering that this type of climate events can happen again. We need to be ready,” she said.
