Sagrado will be the first Uber Campus in Latin America

With this alliance, Sagrado seeks to ensure that no student has their studies interrupted due to transportation challenges.

The Universidad del Sagrado Corazón will become the first Uber Campus in Latin America, thanks to a strategic alliance with the technology company Uber. The initiative aims to make transportation no longer an obstacle for students to continue their studies and make the most of their university experience.

Starting in September, Uber will offer transportation benefits for students with financial need or transportation limitations. In this first implementation phase, the platform that will manage the discounts is being set up. In addition, Café Sagrado has been designated as the official pick-up and drop-off point for Uber rides on campus.

“Our commitment is to continue expanding the resources and support necessary so that students can focus on what truly matters: their academic formation and experience at our university” said President Marxuach Torrós.

The coordination of this effort will be led by the Dean of Students, and further details will be shared with the community on how to apply for the discounts.

“In university life, being able to move around safely and reliably is essential. With Uber Campus, we want to be even more present in this key stage, supporting students so that they can continue their studies without mobility being an obstacle,” said Laura Santillán, General Manager of Uber for Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Panama.

With this project, Sagrado reaffirms its commitment to continue expanding the resources and support that make university life easier.
