Students from the Event Production and Marketing program boost local creativity with Brew Your Brand

The initiative is part of the final project for the course PME 618: Special Events Management and seeks to offer students real-world experiences that allow them to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom.

Students in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Event Production and Marketing at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón demonstrated their ability to manage, lead, and collaborate by producing Brew Your Brand, an event designed to connect education, creativity, and local entrepreneurship.

The educational agenda included a session led by Arleen Y. Pabón Cruz, who offered the talk “Legal Aspects in Entrepreneurship,” and the participation of the creative agency Buena Vibra, which presented the lecture “Marketing + Storytelling,” focused on communication strategies and brand building for entrepreneurs. “For me, being invited here is an opportunity I truly enjoy because it allows me to contribute a small grain of sand to those entrepreneurs who face obstacles and frustrations as they build their businesses due to a lack of information,” expressed Pabón Cruz.

The event also included a coffee break featuring local coffee, presentations by emerging artists, and pop-ups from student entrepreneurs, fostering integration between education and creative development.

“It was an enriching experience to see how the guest speakers were able to provide students with the necessary tools to become entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico,” said Kiara Ramos, a student in PME 618. “We were able to learn in a practical way everything we had been taught since the beginning of the certificate,” added Natasha Malavé, reflecting on her final project for the course.

The event also integrated students from other disciplines, such as Génesis Rosa from the International Studies and Global Communication program, who commented, “Today I learned how to develop my own venture within the legal aspects that are important for us to know.”

The event marked the conclusion of the course Special Events Management, but also the beginning of new professional goals for the students, who transformed their learning into a tangible experience that brings together theory, practice, and creativity.
