As part of the celebrations leading up to commencement ceremonies, Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (Sagrado) awarded the Pórtico Medals to students Yadielis González Muñiz, Charielly Mota Rosario, and Rodolfo Falcón Mojorrieta, members of the Class of 2026, in recognition of their academic excellence, transformative leadership, and perseverance.
The medals were presented during the Graduation Mass held in Sagrado’s Main Chapel. This distinction is the university’s most prestigious award for graduating students whose outstanding achievements demonstrate a commitment to community service, social responsibility, and positive impact within Sagrado and society at large.
Yadielis González Muñiz, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor concentration in Pre-Pharmacy, received the Pórtico Medal for Volunteer Service for her commitment to the well-being of others. She dedicated 391 hours of community service to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, The Akari Foundation, and El Comedor de la Kennedy.
The Pórtico Medal for Leadership and Social Commitment was awarded to Charielly Mota Rosario, who earned a double bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Global Communication and in Psychology. During her time at Sagrado, she distinguished herself through leadership in student initiatives, completion of a congressional internship, and collaboration with organizations such as USDA Rural Development, the American Red Cross, and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
Rodolfo Falcón Mojorrieta, an athlete who graduated from Sagrado’s School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Management, was recognized with the Pórtico Medal for Leadership and Social Commitment for exemplifying leadership, community service, and excellence in both academics and athletics. As part of his student journey, he mentored fellow students, was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society, and excelled in athletic competitions both in and outside Puerto Rico, including world championships, the Pan American Games, the Olympic Games, and Puerto Rico’s Interuniversity Athletic League Sports Festival (LAI). Falcón Mojorrieta’s achievements were also recognized with the Sagrado Trajectory Award by Sagrado’s Athletic Department during its recent Sports Gala.

The Graduation Mass also featured the presence of chef Iván Clemente, founder of El Comedor de la Kennedy, who received the Rosa Filipina Duchesne Medal in recognition of his spirit of service that transcends barriers. Also joining the occasion was Sila María Calderón Serra, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by Sagrado during its 87th Commencement Ceremony. Each of these students, now graduates, is a living example of the values that guide the mission of the University of the Sacred Heart: solidarity, justice, and peace.
Congratulations, Dolphins!
