Some 60 Sagrado students from the Student Support Program (PAE, Spanish acronym) were honored during the 45th edition of the PAE Recognition Ceremony, given their effort during the 2021-2022 academic year at Sagrado Corazón University.

On this occasion, Frangelys Rodríguez Hernández was recognized as the PAE Successful Student for her work as a leader in the communities of the Caño Martín Peña.

“I am honored to get up every day to fight for justice and peace in my community and the Island,” the young woman told those present.

PAE also recognized admissions advisor Jonathan Acevedo Fontánez with the special PAE Collaborator award; as well as radio journalist Gelmary Rivera Sánchez with the PAE Successful Alumni award. In total, 44 students were recognized for Academic Excellence and another 16 for Academic Progress.

From the Game Room at the Student Center, PAE director Liz Sepúlveda Arroyo congratulated everyone on behalf of her team. Meanwhile, Yizeth Arellando García and Jeamy Meléndez del Rosario, PAE academic advisor and coordinator, respectively, served as mistresses of ceremonies.

Alumna and finance coach Carlisa Colón followed by offering her conference “Stop wanting and start achieving,” which motivated the public.

This alumna, who is also founder of Finanzas con Chispa by Carlisa, said: “I always wanted to study at Sagrado, but they told me I was poor and couldn’t. An example of how others can hand over and transfer their own fears and prejudices to you.” Ultimately, her focus brought her to our university, where she completed a BA in Journalism.

If eligible, PAE provides its participants with incentives, as well as academic and technological support, among other things. Write to pae@sagrado.edu or call (787) 728-1515, extensions 3661 or 3632 for more information.

Congratulations to these persistent Sagradeños!
