New Academic Programs at the School of Arts, Design, and Creative Industries

The Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Management, as well as the Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Entertainment Businesses, have been added to its academic offer.

Two new undergraduate programs that complement the academic offer of the School of Arts, Design, and Creative Industries of Sagrado Corazón University were approved by the Post- Secondary Institutions Board.

The director of the School of Arts, Dr. Javier Hernández Acosta, announced it today and offered details about both academic programs:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Management – ​​Develops trailblazing professionals who implement the best practices of ethical and sustainable fashion. In turn, it provides students with design skills based on a critical reflection on the artistic, cultural and functional value of fashion. Business creativity is developed by training students in the necessary skills to generate solutions to the challenges and changes experienced by the sector through design.
  • Bachelor of Arts in Art and Entertainment Businesses – Prepares professional leaders with the necessary skills to create and support companies and projects in the creative industries. Students will integrate management strategies based on knowledge of the industry, its context, and the latest trends. Decision-making skills, teamwork, and creative thinking will be developed for the creation of management strategies through topics relevant to the industry, such as legal aspects, business models, marketing, finance, and administration.

“Minors were also created in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Sports Management, Music Production, Art and Entertainment Businesses, and the Music Business. Minor concentrations will be available to students from any discipline and academic unit,” he added.

He added that these new undergraduate programs and minors will be offered starting in August 2022.

“We appreciate the good reception that the launch of the School of Arts, Design, and Creative Industries has had. With this new offer, we will continue advancing our institutional mission based on the important role that the arts, design, and creativity play,” Hernández Acosta said.
