In response to the drought conditions currently affecting Puerto Rico and recent water service disruptions in sectors of the metropolitan area, the Sagrado community remains committed to conserving and using this resource responsibly.
In light of this situation, we share a series of simple actions that everyone in the university community can take to reduce water waste.
Turn off the faucet when it is not in use.
Being mindful of how much water we use makes a difference, both for students who live on campus and those who commute daily. When washing your hands, showering, brushing your teeth, or performing other cleaning tasks, use only the water you need. Turning off the faucet when water is not in use helps minimize waste.
Report leaks.
A dripping faucet or leaking pipe can waste water continuously. If you notice a leak in a restroom, residence, office, or any other area on campus, report it through the appropriate channels. Identifying and reporting these issues promptly will allow them to be addressed more quickly.
Make these habits part of your routine.
Responsible water use does not depend on a single action. It is something we practice every day through small decisions that, when adopted by the entire community, help conserve our shared resources. In the residences, for example, students can wash full loads of laundry instead of using the washing machine for small loads.
Caring for water on campus is a shared responsibility.
